Am 01. August 1944 erhob sich die polnische Heimatarmee gegen die deutschen Besatzungstruppen. Der Widerstand hielt 63 Tage, bevor die Armee angesichts der Vergeltungstaten kapitulierte. Mit ihrer EP „1 VIII 1944. Warszawa“ gedenken Laibach dem Warschauer Aufstand vor 70 Jahren.

Unterstützt und finanziert wurde das Projekt vom Nationalen Zentrum für Kultur in Polen sowie vom Ministerium für Kultur und nationales Erbe.

Polish National Centre for Culture released the brand new Laibach EP “, titled: 1 VIII 1944. Warszawa.

Laibach was invited by the NCC to create the special project CD, commemorating the 70th anniversary of the Warsaw Uprising.

The Warsaw Uprising (Polish: powstanie warszawskie) was a major World War II operation by the Polish resistance Home Army (Polish: Armia Krajowa) to liberate Warsaw from Nazi Germany.
