Kitty Wells sings Searching (For Someone Like You) at the Grand Ole Opry in 1955. This song has been a #3 country hit for her and was written by Pee Wee Maddux.

Lyric:

Searching I've spent a lifetime darling

Searching looking for someone like you

Dreaming in all my dreams I dream that someday

I'd find someone like you

Other loves have come my way but they were not for me

Tell me that you're here to stay don't ever set me free

Cause I've been searching I've spent a lifetime darling searching

Looking for someone just like you

[ fiddle ]

Other loves have come my way but they were not for me

Tell me that you're here to stay don't ever set me free

Cause I've been searching I've spent a lifetime darling searching

Looking for someone just like you

I was lucky enough to have seen Ms. Wells several times over the years. What an all around wonderful lady! Kitty always made time to chat with her fans and stayed until she signed her autograph for all the folks that wanted her to. She will be sadly missed, no doubt by her family, friends and fans from around the world. God Bless you Kitty Wells and may you rest in piece. Thank you for the memories.

Nicole I don`t give a damn what fruits do with their lives.Harvey the fruit was electedin a fruit district. Was that so epic to have a stamp in his name I don`t think so I`m sure you will fine comfort in the arms of your wife.I`m sure you live in Oakland, because you don`t make the same wage as your male fruits.

@zebramike100 and @John John - Why spread the hate? It's sad to think there are still bigots like you out there.

Leave it to the government looks like they are going issue a stamp honoring a gay supervisor from San Francisco.I was born and raised in San Francisco and I`m disgusted with the way my city has turn into a cesspool of debauchery.

This song brings back so many memories. It was playing on an 8 track tape player in a 1967 mustang as me and my (then) boyfriend went riding. As I Listened to it, it made me realize that he was the one that I had been searching for all along. He passed away in 2006 after 35 years of being the best husband this country girl could ever have had wanted...and the best dad to our two children.

I think we all can agree Johnny Cash deserved a postal stamp. He was one of a kind. I move for a stamp to honor Kitty Wells,.i`m sure hope there are others that would agree with me,I hope to hear from you. Dear Kitty was one of a kind
