As a drummer of 40 years and growing up in this era, I studied John Bonham mostly and Mitch Mitchell. Peter Criss was about the only drummer no one studied cause he really sucked. I even put Ringo Star and Charlie Watts above him in drumming talent. To this day I don't know how this band ever made it big. There was no talent...just makeup.

lame, so sad. he even had triggers on is drums live because he couldn't hit the acoustic drums hard enough to make a sound. this is sad

Wow. Ok, now this reminds me of what I told a friend of mine that's the lead in a band after he blew up at his drummer for missing the timing in a song at a big event they played. Big fight, onstage blowup, bad scene. I told him "It's not about getting the songs perfect every, single time. Nobody can do that not even the pro's. It's about giving it your best and having fun with the crowd. Do it for the crowd, not for yourself. When you do that, the crowd will know it and love you." You do it for yourself in rehearsals.Of course, most non professional bands don't rehearse. They have jobs and lives. This is why Peter never had to be that great a drummer. The little he did sounded great and he worked the crowd.

On Peters official website, he talks alot about Eric Carr. He was glad Eric replaced him, and they used to talk on the phone alot. He would call Peter and say " Man they are insane, how do I deal with them?", LOL Both are very cool, but Eric was cooler.

Blica1 Your so wrong, He studied under Gene Krupa for years. And Mr. Krupa was the ultimate Jazz drummer, Second only to Buddy Rich. Oh and ACE didn't say don't move 3 times. He said BRAVO, BRAVO, BRAVO, DON"T YOU FUCKING MOVE!!!!

Knowing that here Peter was playing for 30 years and was still nervous about solos and was scared to trigger and interact actually make me have a lot more respect for him and realise that he is actually an incredible rock drummer hes just nervous

I think I watched some of that one. but in all honesty. I respect peter. but I would be happy if the kiss line up would have been gene, paul, ace and eric singer. but I don't see it happing. I read someone gene said "if ace and peter rejoined it would be the death of the band" I can respect that from his point of view. but in all honesty from what we hear and read. we don't really know for sure who is actually telling the truth. but I will check out the video when I have time to.

It's not like Gene is exaggerating though, plenty of other people have stated that Peter was obnoxious, arrogant and a whiner, most of which Peter says Gene is. Just look at Ed Kanon, he was Peter's drum tech for years (maybe just under a decade) and he doesn't even want to know Peter any more. Well that doesn't explain why Peter even stated in his book that Gene worked with him constantly to get the solo right. They filmed most of the rehearsals anyway. Peter was just trying to be the victim.
