Hughes is such an ass......first he has jack shit to do with this song. I'd give him a pass since he mentioned JON LORD but the crap he's said about MKII is unforgivable. He joins a band that was number one world wide in record sales and concert receipts and then tells anyone who Will listen from 1973 to now that he didn't like the band. Now he Hawks purples name and is on every MK II tribute. Fucking hypocrite. Second, the screaming is ridiculous. Sure Gillan was famous for his screaming but it was targeted and not all over the song. Gillan was perfect. Hughes just screams and distracts from the song. Did you see the looks Stevens gave him. Sure, when hughes sings he's great but he's such a jackass...always...that he screws up everything he touches. For the record...Hughes is not in Deep Purple and wrote none...zero...zilch of their hits.
