Well, well. Satriani? Check. Morse? Check. PETRUCCI? Check. I still don't know what Ritchie Blackmore was doing on Machine Head, but had the coldest, most evil guitar sound I've ever heard. It wasn't distorted, just... fucking EVIL. Petrucci might be closest.

This is quite possibly my favorite song ever. And i love it when bands cover it, i mean what the fuck is wrong with you guys. If you don't like it, don't listen to it...STOP COMPLAINING. This is dream theater paying tribute to the hardest rocking band of the 70's, and i think its great... and this is coming from someone who has heard every single version of highway star.

Some tracks should never be covered... This being one. Leave the original alone. It is a timeless work of excellence, both the Live and Studio Versions..... If there has to be one exception to the rule... then Satriani with Chickenfoots' version stands out about all others as I believe it is a very honest and full on exciting version of the original Live track.
