A song written by Kerry Livgren and Steve Walsh

Artist: Kansas

Album: Kansas

Year: 1974

Lyrics:

Dark and silent brooding, stillness falls

Sounds caress the waiting empty halls

Pilgrims flock from miles around

Seekers in the night abound

All have come to feel the sound of joy

Patient eyes are watching from below

Mirror image flashing in the glow

Hands are joined in energy

All approaching ecstacy

Harnessing the power in the air

Awesome in their patient majesty

Pouring forth the fruits of harmony

Hands are joined in energy

All approaching ecstacy

Harnessing the power in the air

After re-listening to this album for the first time in better than 40 years, reminds me why I fell so hard for KANSAS in the first place. PROGG, was my steadfast at 12 years old..... \\m//

I'm guessing the first guitar solo is Kerry and the second one is Rich.

I love this song, too! It sort of nods to Yes, with the feel of "All Good People" in that boogie sort of way! At the same time, it is truly "American" in flavor, with almost a Copland open-chord sensibility. Steve Morse also infused the band's music with that same quality.

@crisswitt -there should be a law against non-music lovers even touching someone else's albums - that man was truly a pathetic LOSER !!

as usual, a very good tune from a great band - if i wake up sweating from a flashback, their music always calms me down

No, those (un) Grateful Dead "divlips" (hippies) never got it. Kansas DID, and how! The rest is happily history. :-)

It's based on sales of albums within a time frame, and even though I appreciate Kansas more than most people, it is what it is.
