;) pretty much. A long trip with many stories :). I think its refreshing to see/read that people like Kerry and Neil Peart, although different ideologies, are voracious readers and are on the eternal quest for truth and reflect it in their musics :).

All Kerry's lirics on Leftoverture are about his spiritual search

What "christian period"? For Kerry and Dave it still lasts. And Kerry's lyrics are eternal.

I soooo agree! Thoughtful, harmonious, talented. Also loved Supertramp and Chicago. Supertramp has some interesting and thoughtful lyrics as well.

I had no idea. Always wondered. Thanks for that info. LOVE this song, and always loved Kansas. So talented. I had few friends growing up that shared my love of this group, most preferring the harder rock bands, or then coming up punk rock bands.

If you are referring to Kerry it was amazing he got Ronnie Dio singing on his "christian" album

I am assuming this was at the Summit? The day after John Lennon was killed. I wonder if they mentioned Lennon or dedicated a song?

great song, too bad one of them left because he felt he was something better

It's pretty simple. They fail to understand the difference between knowledge and belief.

If, as you say, you understand Christianity, then can you tell me how it is that , according to the teaching of Jesus Christ, a person can know that he/she is saved and is going to heaven when they die? This is as basic as it gets, especially for anyone who has read even a little bit of the bible.

Why is it that superstitious folks like to overestimate the complexity of their faith? Christianity is not difficult to understand. It is, however, full of contradictions, circular logic, and outdated philosophy. Nonetheless, your assumptions both happen to be false. Frankly, if I didn't understand Christianity and were not familiar with the Bible, it would be far more likely that I would, in fact, be Christian.

Why is it that people who have neither read the bible nor understand Christianity always put it down?

@TheEricinSF - Nope, not according to Kerry Livgren in his Book "Seeds of Change", he was into Eastern Philosophies until the end of the "Tour" of Monolith. It may be a hard book to find but it has funny and poignant stories of Kansas and his Spiritual quest :).

@ArizonaBasement yes I heard that's who he wrote it about, but then that night, being the night after John Lennon died, I jsut wonder

@SheldonLefkowitz Oh, now, I don't know... those short shorts & tight pants in the late 70's/early 80's were ...um... better than bell bottoms & super sized shoulder pads! I'm glad he doesn't wear them now, kinda outgrew that, but, then...

@ArizonaBasement Kerry was born again well before that....almost all of the songs on the Leftoverture are about Kerry's faith.
