Remaster of a song I uploaded some 3 years ago. Better sound and widescreen image. This is the opening track from the album Audio-Visions, written by Kerry Livgren.

Kansas had an unequalled live reputation and this track is living proof of that. I mean, put this next to the studio version, there´s no comparison really.

It was filmed at the Summit, Houston, TX on December 9th, 1980. The material is historic because it turned out to be the last tour with the original 6 members, before Steve decided to leave. Ironically enough, it were lyrics of songs like this one that forced him to make that decision.

The band:

Kerry Livgren

Steve Walsh

Robby Steinhardt

Dave Hope

Rich Williams

Phil Ehart

Call me selfish if you wish, but the fact is if Walsh, and Livgren, and Hope could of somehow kept coexisting the sky was the limit for this Band. Regardless of whether it was faith, or ego, or both whatever it was caused a serious blow to a Band that is under appreciated, and today because of this is hardly known except for those who followed them. After these concert's in 1980 1981, and of course the demo's that should be remastered for The Vinyl Confession's Album with Walsh and released in some form, this was it of the best version of this Great Legendary Band, and at the end of the day it was, and is at the expense of the fan's. I will alway's love this Band for what it represent's message wise, musically, vocally, but I do feel a little jipped at the end of the day. The other incarnations of this Band are Great yes, and I love the music they put forth, but it was never the same after Audio Vision's. This is just my opinion, and if you want to call me selfish I will take that, but no one can watch this video, and not see what this band with the original lineup had to offer if they stay together in the 80's.

This remaster is brilliant!!! Have you thought of remastering the entire audio of this concert?

This sounds awesome! You did an fantastic job. Really wish you could do the remastering with all of the songs from this concert. This concert footage is one of the most spectacular in Rock History and it deserves the best possible remastering. Someone gotta has to do it. Go ahead and you'll get heartful reactions of music listeners which really appreciate it. WOW!

OOOOOH. Guess you did not read my post two comments above my second one. I stated an "opinion" and did not denounce anybody. If you view sarcastic remarks as shots to the heart, good luck with the rest of your life. Just imagine if all of your left of center fellow travelers kept their mouth shut, the tone of public discourse would be improved. Abrasive?? Wake up from your mariganja high that appears to have lasted longer than it should have.

I love kansas have listened to them for about 35 yrs. I love their Lyrics they mean something they have value. What makes this band so Interesting is the fact that before Kerry turned to Christianity, He wrote from views on Hinduism, Buddism, and alot of different points of Religious view, including songs like Dust In the Wind. Kansas is a Band that should be enjoyed everyone, not just those that believe their way is right, or whatever. Enjoy the Music, music should be an escape for everyone.

Fligemon by your abrasive way of depicting people of different views, it makes it hard for me to believe that you are a Christian. Kansas is a Band that has put out Great Music for Yrs, and i really do not think Political Ideology should keep anyone from enjoying Music. I think that people like you are the Problem with Relgion, and our Political System. Live, and let Live, do unto others as you would have them do unto you, or If you dont have nothing nice to say, keep your Damned mouth shut.

I cannot help but think that when Kerry wrote these lyrics, they were in reference to his conversion to the Christian faith. Not a throw away by any means. Brilliant lyrics and great that guys like Steve Walsh and Robbie Steinhardt embraced singing them in spite of their skeptical worldview.

And a great example of faith are Obummer supporters: convinced that Barry is the greatest ever without any proof of it. Misplaced faith is around us everyday.

the belief in something without proof, nice. I have faith that there is an invisible teapot orbiting the earth.
