Album: Leftoverture

Released in: 1976

Lyrics:

On a crystal morning I can see the dewdrops falling

Down from gleaming heaven, I can hear the voices call

When you're comin' home now, son, the world is not for you

Tell me what's your point of view

Hey there Mister Madman, what'cha know that I don't know

Tell me some crazy stories, let me know who runs this show

Glassy-eyed and laughing, he turns and walks away

Tell me what made you that way

(Chorus)

Here I am just waiting for a sign

Asking questions, learning all the time

It's always here, it's always there

It's just love, and miracles out of nowhere

Tell me now dear Mother, what's it like to be so old

Children grown and leavin', seems the world is growin' cold

And though your body's ailin' you, your mind is just like new

Tell me where you're goin' to

It's so simple lying right before your eyes

If you'll look only through this disguise

It's always here, it's always there

It's just love and miracles out of nowhere

Love and miracles out of nowhere

I sang this song a hundred, maybe a thousand years ago

No one ever listens, I just play and then I go

Off into the sunset like the western heroes do

Tell me what you're gonna do

Here I am, I'm sure to see a sign

All my life I knew that it was mine

It's always here, it's always there

It's just love and miracles out of nowhere

Love and miracles out of nowhere

Out Of Nowhere!

You can tell that Kerry was searching for something in his life and it was reflected in his lyrics. Such depth to this song. Hard to find anything close to this kind of music now.

let me jump on board and totally agree with everything that I have read so far. Being a total Kansas fan for over 40 years it is truly unbelievable that they are not in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. it is easy to see however that true genius and talent sometimes is trumped by popularity. in the meantime, I continue to pray for the bands good health so that they may continue to perform an entertain us for a long time. "Got to rock on"

I was just at the Rock Hall of Fame last summer, and I was stunned that Kansas is not in there, in fact the only clue they even exist was their signatures on the glass wall on the top floor.

Kerry Livgren was a genius songwriter- incorporating metaphysical belief/thought into the lyrics of his compositions for most of Kansas's albums, like "Song For America" & "Masque"(both 1975); "Point of Know Return"-1977; "Monolith"-1979, plus his later solo & christian music releases. This track is a masterpiece from the 1976 album, "Leftoverture".

I bought Leftoverture twice in '76 because my little sister broke my first record and there were no 8 track or any form of "tapes" available at the time. everything was turntable baby. im not trolling.
