fraroc - you are beyond stupid. Your comment: "They drop all their songs a half octave." That would be about 7 half steps. The songs would be unrecognizable. You said the same of this video. I just played along with this on one of my keyboards and checked. This version is in the original key it was recorded in in 1975. You speak as a fool.

It's a shame that Kansas never fully got the credit that they so deserved.

LMFAO! I can't believe that somebody had the nerve to say that Ragsdale brought "the sense of Youthfulness back to Kansas because he was 10 years younger than Robbie". Ragsdale is at least 50 years old, which is hardly "youthful"! ;-) If you want "Youthfullness", I suggest you check out Justin Bieber! But if you want to hear some great rock n' roll, I suggest you listen to Kansas! From their beginning in 1973, Kansas' music has always transcended "good looks" and "youthfulness"!

Today, Rags is a better violinist than Robbie and he has much better intonation. However, when Robbie was in his prime, he was really awesome. The truth is Robbie (& Kerry) wrote most of the original violin parts which are timeless. Unfortunately, Rags likes to deviate from these original violin parts and it doesn't always fit the "Kansas-style". I just watched a video of Rags playing "Icarus" in Mason Ohio (2007) and his solo makes "Icarus" sound like country music rather than Kansas, :(

Robbies a very fine violinist but really has great harmonies, David Ragsdale is a more classicly trained violinist he was a child prodigy , from my town hes as good a musician that this town ever produced. from a small town theres quite a few musicians that had a shot, the 2 violinists (rare) both made it big , David & Tony Stevens formerly Alan Jacksons mgr now a Nashville music exec . all these gtr/drummers/singers some made it but brief , if youre young learn to be violinist,

@KolerikRocks Really? look at how terrifying poor Robbie looks in this video, look at any preformance 2002-2006 with Robby and look how slow and sluggish the entire band is because of Robby. Then check out a video of Kansas in 2011 with David Ragsdale how much more rock n roll energy has been restored in Kansas.

@mistisafilam You are a fucking asshole. The intonation of Rags is absolutley astonishing. Just listen to the Theres Know Place Like Home DVD, its much better than this shit. Robbie USED to be amazing but Rags is so much better. If you honestly think after watching this hot mess that Robbie is better than David Ragsdale, then I advise you put a 9mm to your head and pull the fucking trigger, cunt.

Fraroc-If you can't speak Intellegently about the Violin then don't speak at all! Robbie vs Rags...Robbie hands down!!!

Walsh's pipes are shot, what a shame, even with the tunes dropped half an octave he can't cut the mustard. Too much coke, too many cigarettes.

This is why Ragsdale needed to come back, he brought the sense of youthfulness back to Kansas. The fact that he is like 10 years younger than Robbie (David was born in early 1959 I belive) and that he's more talented too. Kansas drop-tunes all their songs one half octave below nowadays, they need to because it lets Steve sing powerfully on a more comfortable level.

No, thats Rich Williams.. Livgren is strangely not present and his Rhythm guitar part, as well, is sorely missing. 5 membered KANSAS here.
