Not a fan. She and her productiin team are ripping off of kate bush and peter gabriel and coming nowhere near their originality or brilliance. I feel like joy suffers from perpetual identity crisis. First a christian singer, then folk-country, and now she is trying this electronica pop sound. She has no real vision of who she is. She can sing but JPW was clearly the soul of the duo.

Wonderful anthem to woman (especially with Mother's Day approaching), great singing, captivating video... Although a fan of Civil Wars, I'm really looking forward to the album. (Never understood the 'ownership' that some fans have about their artists' music. Saw all the comments on iTunes wishing she'd return to the Civil Wars sound, rejecting this material, and all I could think was 'How selfish.' Artists grow. Joy's grown big-time through (at least) three distinct phases; her fans should be happy that she's making the music she wants to make, be happy for HER, not bemoaning the fact that they've somehow been robbed.)

Don't offer advice with a voice so loud, if you have never faced the crowd. Keep doing what you are doing Joy. Together we make a collective sound. Apart we are free to open up the depth of our souls.

Joy was pop before The Civil Wars, now she's returning to those roots. Most longtime fans of Joy's were surprised by the folk sound of the Civil Wars compared to where she came from. I think this is a great, natural step for her.

I always love it when artists have the courage to step out of their own mold. Way to go Joy! Keep listening to your muse and forget about everyone who wants you to stay the same.

dearest Joy Williams, you may probably not read this, but i am so happy and i appreciate that you're continuing your passion for music. your voice is a rare gem so pls keep on sharing it to inspire people like me. i'll support you all the way <3p.s. i would love to hear your raw, beautiful voice more though. so instead of songs like this where other noises are hindering it, it would be lovelier to hear acoustic, or piano-based songs from you. hopeful for your next single and new album! :)

Wow, the criticism! I see why you don't spend time online! I for one will always appreciate your voice and will always enjoy hearing the path you make though the music. If you read this know that. Enjoy that family you guys have made.

If you look Joy up on iTunes this song is a lot more like the music she was producing just before the Civil Wars. I agree that the production on this song is a little heavy-handed, but I'm willing to bet it's not indicative of the entire forthcoming album. Still miss them as a duo, but also looking forward to this new solo album.

I'm surprised how much hate this song is getting. Personally, I love everything about it. I think it's right on point.

I'm really enjoying this song! It's definitely not Civil Wars, but it doesn't need to be! This is Joy Williams and part of who she is now (a mama!) An anthem for women! Both Civil Wars and Mumford & Sons are my top favorite bands, and I can't stand the new songs coming from Mumford & Sons, but THIS is great! If this just isn't your thing, that's fine! If you are looking for what Civil Wars gave you... look elsewhere!
