Poor Old Johnnie Ray. This was his final hit record - but ... WHAT A SONG! and WHAT A SINGER! Johnnie had seldom been out of the charts throughout the 1950s, but this self-composed song was the last of his decade of hits. With such a stunning arrangement and performance it should have climbed higher. Although there were no further big record sellers, his fans continued to give him loyal support at concert appearances until his death in 1990.

Amazing man and song ! So much talent, it couldn't be measured. He was born slightly at the wrong time. There have been few singers and composers as great as him. Thank you for the upload.

Passionate Johnnie Ray original went to #1 in Australia where the legendary trailblazing genius was appreciated to the end of his life with sold-out concerts year before his passing...originator of letting it all out performances and authentic rock & soul from a white guy, Johnnie deserves induction to "Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame"!

His voice was so wonderful,, he had a timbre that was so nice to listen to, and a charm a personality that matched his singing talents! This song has a beautiful and emotional appeal to the heart,, sadly,, today's music has no heart,, it needs a transplant!!!

I grew up with a mother who went to see Johhny Ray in Brisbane Aust. & she sang all his songs & this song meant so much to her that a radio station played it for her regulary. She was very sick & this always was her moment of joy listening to Johnny She also was deaf in her left ear. He joins the ranks of the unforgettable singers of the 50's a great era for music. We miss you Johhny.
