John Mellencamp & Maria McKee perform "Pink Houses" live at the Farm Aid concert in Austin, Texas on July 4, 1986. Farm Aid was started by Willie Nelson, Neil Young and John Mellencamp in 1985 to keep family farmers on the land and has worked since then to make sure everyone has access to good food from family farmers. Dave Matthews joined Farm Aid's board of directors in 2001.

Not all duets work. She was ready to TAKE it and if the band would have followed her - look out! Her foot would have started stomping and pretty soon no one would know that anyone one else was there. Still, a great, vintage piece!9 years ago

Not her best performance -- she was raring to go and belt it out but the acoustic version was no match for her volume. She said she had to scream above Lone Justice to be heard so I guess that's what she was used to.9 years ago

Yeah, I saw that also but I would hope that they would have kept filming the show and that they just stopped broadcasting it. I don't know where they fell in the lineup schedule for that year but i imagine there were still a few more acts left to perform. We can only hope though :)10 years ago

I don't know if that's possible DDD....I was just reading up on this but there was an "incident" involving Sammy Hagar that scuttled the broadcast, literally took it off the air and Lone Justice followed. Hagar introduced I Can't Drive 55 by saying "Here's one for all all you tractor-pulling mfers"...he was saying it in good spirit but it got the show yanked including his announcement and pairing with Eddie Van Halen ..Idk if they were even filmed ,but I agree, I would love to see it10 years ago
