One thing I really appreciate about Fogerty is that he hasn't changed the way he does this, or any, song in the last 45 years. When you've got it right, why mess with it? It doesn't matter that CCR had three hit songs about Louisiana or the Mississippi River before they ever set foot there. (True, oddly.) It doesn't matter that no one has an accent like that in Louisiana. (He was born in Berkeley, California, and grew up in El Cerrito!) It's a great song.

This would sound so good if the drums didn't sound SO BAD. There's no sound to them they sound so generic as if I was sitting here with a electric drum kit. Listen to the any credence version and tell me that the growl of those drums and the growl of Fogerty's voice didn't make for the most killer combination. The drums in most all the "John Fogerty band" performances of Born on the Bayou sound like I'm at a damn Celine Dion concert. Am I the only one who notices the difference?

Love this live version. He tells about the people who were effected by Hurricane Katrina and how he has a love for LOUISIANA. I Love LOUISIANA too John. My wonderful Grandmother who I Loved so much and miss and talk about often was from LOUISIANA. Thanks for ALL your music John. I like Every song you have ever done. Roger Crowder, in Burnet, Tx.
