Shot on location at the Steinway & Sons piano factory in Astoria, New York. Special thanks to our friends at Steinway for providing access to their historic location and a Model D concert grand piano for Joey’s performance.

Joey Alexander’s jaw-dropping ability and beyond-his-years artistry brought him to some of the grandest stages, from performing at the GRAMMYs and the White House, to appearing on the TODAY Show and 60 Minutes. Just over a year removed from his debut, the same maturity and dedication to his craft that made him a phenomenon is evident in his remarkable evolution on his sophomore release, COUNTDOWN. Joey now steps forward as a composer, while still paying tribute to the jazz greats (Coltrane, Monk, Strayhorn).

Great setting in the Steinway & Sons factory in Brooklyn, NY matched by a great pianist. Steinways are the creme de la creme when it comes to pianos. I wish Newport Jazz Festival one day gets rid of their contract with Yamaha for pianos, which clearly are inferior in tone, richness of sound and resonance - cheap materials and no craftsmanship will do that, Yamaha!

Just gorgeous. Maybe if I get ANOTHER 75 years ti play, I can become half as good. (But that would give him time to get 750 years ahead of... :-D Love and joy to you J-Man.

Say and heard him live in Houston, Feb 2017 and first weekend of New Orleans Jazz Fest, 12 days ago. Can't get enough. If you just listen, his age is irrelevant. I hope to hear him for decades.

Soothing, harmonious and yet Joey is able at such a young age to improvise so intelligently with his music. Phenomenal and talented. I love his work.

Geez, how was this filmed? Seems as if the cameras keep disappearing from a take to another, even from the drone's perspective!
