John Coltrane's recording of "My Favorite Things" was what got me hooked on jazz. It was magic. I've never looked back. That was 25 years ago. Now Joey's version of MFT, as well as "Giant Steps," has brought on that same feeling of joy, freedom, and mind expansion that I felt when I listened to my first arrangement by Trane. This interpretation is amazing and Larry Grenadier's bass playing is perfect.
