Joe Strummer died 11 years ago today. There are any number of Clash songs I could post, but I've gone for something from his last record instead. He wrote this song for Johnny Cash, who died before he could record it. There's something about this tune that always hits me in the gut. "You cast a long shadow and that is your testament." Indeed.

damn shame Joe expired when he did, he was just on the edge of a 2nd comeback into the spotlight. most people dont even appreciate how influential The Clash are, theyve probably influenced more bands than any other UK Punk act.
