Here's ol' Joe, singin' in the kitchen while he whips up another batch of the good stuff.

This hot little number was tucked away on Joe's 1994 CD, "Third Rock From The Sun".

I've often wondered who the 'Billy' is who does the cameo chat towards the end...was it one of the song's writers, Billy Dean...or, perhaps Billy Ray Cyrus?

If you know, I'd be happy for you to enlighten me.

By the way...if you have a gravy fixation (!), you might like to check out another cool song here on YouTube..."How To Make Gravy" by Aussie singer/songwriter, Paul Kelly.

One of my favorite songs. I found out about this song by accident when the radio station I was listening to played it in error. I bought the album immediately!

We was still buzzin' from the night before. He was making biscuits and gravy in this crazy awesome duckblind with a few woody breasts that he had filleted and cubed with his pocket knife. He was a pretty convincing guy. Said he sold the song to an agency, then got a letter a year later saying Joe was gonna record it. Either way...it was a good story and the duck breast and brown gravy was awesome.

According to the track listing, Billy Dean, Verlon Thompson, and Bill Kenner wrote this song. Saw Billy Dean in concert last night; and it was a great story about how the three came up with this tune.

My favorite Joe Diffy song. The guy who wrote it ain't Billy Dean, either...He's a duck guide on the Obine River in TN. Hence the "Back, back, I hollered to my hound" line.

Saw Billy Dean live on Friday. He mentioned this song. Him and a couple other songwriters were told to write a love song for George Strait, instead they went out to lunch and came up with this little number, which Joe Diffie recorded the following week. Funny how that worked out.
