I had just been discharged from the service 1976.... A friend suggested we head to Missoula to see the Jimmy Buffett and Jerry Jeff Walker benifit Show (Kegger). What a time we had!

I'm lucky to get to live the Key West life. Wish everyone could just experience it once.

Sorry, guitarbill71~~I personally loved all the changes JB went through, how his styles changed and brought us fresh music he hadn't done before! :) Everybody changes as they mature and their values and personalities become different than the "kid" they used to be. I've enjoyed every stage of his music, especially the 'down island' sound with the steel drums. :D

@klm7858 I think that the "calypso poet" label is what made Buffett a caricature of himself - before he added steel drums to everything, he was an amazing folk / country song-writer.

@yorcon Buffett might have been at this kegger, but he didn't write this song about it. This is from the 'Changes in Lattitudes Changes in Attitudes' album, and that was released in January 1977.

This song is about the Aber Day Kegger in Missoula Montana 1978. Buffet was one of the performers. 1040 kegs!

JB is one of the most insightful "Calypso poets" ever to write and sing---LOVE this song!
