Does anyone know if there is any info about the musicians on the LP album cover? I'm wondering if that's him on the solo and is it the epiphone he always used back then.

As several people have stated, this is an excellent up tempo version of this often recorded song. There is a beautiful economy in Jimmie's singing and the background; with close co-ordination between the two. Does anyone know if Jimmie did his own A&R? The Beach Boys' version sounds heavy and lazy, by comparison.

Great "deadending". Did Jimmie play all his own guitar?

Damn... I've been in love with the Beach Boys version of this song for some 2 decades now... Today, I've heard this music for the first time. Never heard about the singer. In the middle of the song, I realize this one is better... much better.Congrats!

Was there EVER a finer voice in the history of Folk music? I don't think so. This guy was the down home real deal, possessor of the purist voice ever put to vinyl in the genre he created: Folk-Rock. This is by far the best version of this classic song ever recorded. Kudos to the King of Folk-Rock: Jimmie Rodgers. He is deserving of a MAJOR revivial.
