Anyone know if this came before or after Tony Iommis brief stint ? The guitar tone brings Sabbaths 1st album to mind .... Like say maybe 'Warning' ?

one of my first albums on recommendation from the guy who ran the store...my tastes went from shlock rock to livin' on the edge rock. the british bands were at the top of music, not necessarily the top of the charts. hey, remember savoy brown, king crimson, and these guys. wow. my head spins.

It's "traditional" (which sounds better than "I don't know.") Lost somewhere in the mists of time...

I think he's playing "octaves" there, right? 'Tis indeed difficult--sounds really otherworldly though. Another example of octaves (employed to a less "innovative" degree, however) is about a minute into the instrumental opening of the Allmans' song Revival.

Martin was like, in fact, 22 at the time--actually a year older than Ian--still is!

Can't believe you missed B J Wilson from Procol Harem....Possibly THE best...And you left out Keith Moon,,,,Hello?? Clive is one of most underrated and I agree with "New Day..." and Nothing is Easy blast offs... They rock, as does his drumming driving THIS song along....He was almost a lead instrument, like Mitch Mitchell, Keith Moon and B J Wilson.....

I learned to play the drums listening to Cobham, Dunbar, Mitch Mitchel, Bonham, Butch Trucks, Johanny Johnson, Ian Pace and Clive Bunker who was my favorite.....Nothing is Easy and new Day yesterday, can't beat those rythms....JT you R a Legend...Rock on Mother Goose...!!

Clive Bunker's drumming on this album is like a truck that lost its brakes, grinding away at the guardrail on a steep mountain road.
