I think he's playing "octaves" there, right? 'Tis indeed difficult--sounds really otherworldly though. Another example of octaves (employed to a less "innovative" degree, however) is about a minute into the instrumental opening of the Allmans' song Revival.

Can't believe you missed B J Wilson from Procol Harem....Possibly THE best...And you left out Keith Moon,,,,Hello?? Clive is one of most underrated and I agree with "New Day..." and Nothing is Easy blast offs... They rock, as does his drumming driving THIS song along....He was almost a lead instrument, like Mitch Mitchell, Keith Moon and B J Wilson.....
