Jerry Butler continued his balladeer-style singing with "Make It Easy On Yourself", released in June, 1962. On June 25, 1962, Butler sung this song for the first time publicly on American Bandstand, which had a lot of the teenage audience cuddling, under the dimmed lights of the studio. This record managed a #22 on the Pop Chart and a #18 on the R&B Chart.

Breaking up is indeed so very hard to do. Mr. Butler drove that point home better than anyone else could. Thanks for the memories and the chicken skin, xunclexx.

An old school "O.G." like myself when I faced these circumstances, my eyes watered, my knees buckled, and I broke down! it was more than I could bear.

Thanx sauquoit for the added info. One my favorite Iceman picks and one of the most requested records at my house parties back in '62.
