I was a simple little girl in Wales when my late husband service in the USAF brought this song to the UK. It blew my mind then and it still does. AMAZING!!!

This was for you, Kenneth Ray. Jerry Butler and James Brown were your favorite artists. I miss you. Your sister. Barbara

That's true, Jan, about 1958-1961. But during 1954 to 1958, most of my oldest sister's friends were decked out in that attire. And don't forget the black & white oxford shoes.

They were great years to be a teenager in. We had some of the best music. One mis comception about those 50's is that there weren't as many Poodle Skirts and Ponytails as they make you believe.

It's ok to look at the past as long as you don't stare

All the songs that were sung were of love and hope. I still feel it.

Jamie, I was born in '41 and having turned 14 in '55 when R&R first hit, me and my classmates from the class of '59 always thought that we were born at the perfect time. In '57 when we turned 16 the great cars of 57 hit the road. It was Jan. of '60 before I got my 57 Chevy but boy did it ever serve me well. I'll never forget the drive-in movies, dances, drive-in restaurants, and our favorite parking (make out) spot on Missionary Ridge. Damn, it was great, to bad you couldn't have been there.
