I've just recently discovered this album. I've always stayed away from Spencer's post Mac work because I thought he was just a one dimensional, 50's Revivalist. This stuff is incredibly musical..Love it,my favorite 'new' artist! I read that the master tapes to this album were lost in afire in the 1970's which is why it never came out on CD. Shame,as this album is seriously unique..Still got it on vinyl-my favorite medium anyway!

This album definitely has its moments, but it sounds like the band is playing in a different room from where the microphones were. And the vibe of it is creepy and unsettling.
