I don't know or sure if Clark Kent was really Superman, but I am 100% sure thatGene Pitney was in fact Elmer Fudd.

"He held her charms". does that mean he went the grope? I guess it certainly beats today's alternative which would be " caressing this bitch plus I'm checking out them tit's"

Props to MusicMike for posting this video which was broadcast on AM1070 KNTH in Houston, Texas on 2/23/15. Yes, Monday is back. I'm getting started with some Maxwell House French Roast this morning. The high in Houston will be around 41; the cold is back. this morning's AM1070 5:20 oldie is about succumbing to temptation and winding up in the arms of another. You will either like this song or you will hate it. I love this song (and anything else by Gene Pitney) because of the production of the song with the Spanish horns. However, you can't help but think, "this guy just cheated on his girlfriend, is leaving her to run away with this new love, and he is playing the victim? What's up with that? "Twenty-Four Hours from Tulsa" was written by Burt Bacharach and Hal David which was a hit for Gene Pitney. Its success in the UK enabled Pitney to become an international star. In the US, Pitney peaked at #17 on the pop chart. Through the mid-1960s, he enjoyed success as a recording artist on both sides of the Atlantic and was among the group of early 1960s American acts who continued to enjoy hits after the British Invasion.Pitney charted 16 Top-40 hits in the U.S., four in the Top 10. In the UK he had 22 Top-40 hits, and 11 singles in the Top Ten. He also wrote the early 1960s hits "Rubber Ball" recorded by Bobby Vee, "He's a Rebel" by the Crystals, and "Hello Mary Lou" by Ricky Nelson. In 2002, he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. His tour manager found Gene Pitney dead on April 5, 2006 in a Hilton Hotel room in Cardiff, during a UK tour. Pitney was 66. An autopsy revealed that he had died of a heart attack and had severely constricted coronary arteries. Okay, let's get to work and make it a good Monday.

This is one of those great Pitney songs that was like a miniature movie. Last Chance To Turn Around was another.
