Vocal preference is subjective. I just think most people identify with Peter Cetera's vocals when they hear Chicago music.

To me, Peter is better than Jason in general. In this comparison, Peter is the winner. Tho Jason was not bad singing this song either on this video. He did an awesomd job.

I like Jason and think he does a heck of a job on the Cetera songs but typically is not quite up to Cetera's level. That being said on "Happy Man" I think Jason kills it! I'd much rather hear him sing it than Cetera. Just a personal opinion.

I think they both sound great but it's not really a fair comparison since the peter cetera version is so old and of poor quality and the new technology is so much better. I guess I 'm kind of dumb not being a huge chicago fan (I always liked this song and call on me and hard to say Im sorry but that's it) I thought it WAS peter cetera the first time I watched it and my husband who HATES chicago reminded me that this guy is young and Cetera is old now.
