Both are phenomenal vocalists. You can't expect one to carbon copy another, and who would want that anyway. Peter sounds great on material that was crafted for him...Jason sounds amazing on things like this and 'Will You Still Love Me'...

I keep reading that Jason is trying too hard to sound like Peter. I do believe Jason already had that voice waaaay before he joined Chicago. Jason sounds like Jason and I gotta give it to the guy; for 30 years he's been loyal to his band. He's grateful that he was given this opportunity at the ripe young age of 23. You don't think he was anxious about the shoes he had to fill?? He's done a magnificent job.

You people kill me!!!!You were not whatsoever a fan...Otherwise you would comprehend that Peter "abandoned" Chicago, and that is when Jason came in and rescued the band..And if you do not like it then you don't have to listen to this any longer...Point said"stop your bitching"!

comparing Cetera from 30 years ago against an old dude?doesn't seem fair. Liked all the Chicago stuff and singers though.

It's kind of silly the way we compare these iconic lead singers to the people who replace them decades after the band's heyday. First, the 'replacements' are always great singers in their own right, so give them their due.. Second, NATURALLY we're going to give it to the guy we grew up hearing, the guy who made the song famous - DUH. Third, if you went back in time and switched original and replacement, we'd be saying the same damn thing 'this Cetera guy just isn't as good as Jeff' LOL

Cetera's vocals were so distinctive that it overshadowed the fact he was an outstanding rock/funk/jazz bassist, skilled at playing his bass line while simultaneously singing various genres of music, not an easy thing to do. I believe that he developed a metacarpal condition in one of his hands after he left Chicago which made it difficult and/or painful for him to play the bass, so he ceased doing so.

Peter Cetera...need I say more? Jason is trying too hard to be like Peter. He's staining to get those high notes out. Peter takes the win on this one!!
