I agree with ya. Freedoms get taken away because of greed for power and wealth. End corporate lobbying and we get freedoms back. JMO. But I've thought about it for a few years now....

Ok, I can see that. Thanks for giving me some context.

This is just my take on it: If you grew up among the Alabama pines, your dreams generally involved going someplace else. Nearly everything in modern society requires gasoline, especially leaving.

I live between the Shoals and Decatur. Great place to grow up.

Jason, your voice takes me there with you, not hard for a girl that's from the Shoals. You make me proud to share a hometown. Beautiful, lyrical, genius storytelling. Your talent is a gift. Can't get enough of your music.

It's difficult to unpack his politics from one song. He also has a lot of songs about the TVA. He's the best.

I can't get to sleep at night, the parking lot's so loud and bright. The AC hasn't worked in 20 years, probably never made a single person cold I can't say the same for me. I've done it many times That just cut me deep, ya cut me deep Jason..

I often hear him singing this, long after I've listened to it.

The two people who disliked this are insane. Jason is a musical poet of the highest order. I've always said it's Dylan, Simon and everybody else. Jason is at the top of the everybody else list. He'll never be Dylan or Simon, but nobody will.
