Here's a list of musicians that can. 1.) All the others! I don't dictate music efficiently either but I do understand sharps, flats, major, minor pentatonic scales, modes and relative minor's as they relate to my instruments. Yooz shittin' (sp?) yourself if you buy "reports" that Tommy Emmanuel and others have no idea how to play and identify relative minors and basic theory. Brent Mason is another. You bought a few basses, failed theory and passed your English class... good for you!! EGBDF :)

By no means are scales a tool for taste rather they help connect vast theory to your ideas then, (if you can play) to your instrument.Chet Atkins was once asked if he studied music theory? His reply: Not enough that it might affect my playing! While I lived in Nashville, I was blessed to meet many great players. I also met many wanna be's and rich fucks...point us to your work Mr. award winner with no identity!.

So far, the only thing we know is your a complete Dick! First, your "knowledge of elementary western music theory" comment was funny. Last I checked theory was a musical language and not a genre. I'm sure you knew that already having all the awards hanging on your wall. This "little boy" played with the late great Johnny Paycheck, Laretta Lynn, Confederate Railroad, Chris Ledoux, Joni Harms (Capital) and tons of session work. I play bass... well!
