Jackie Shane - In My Tenement video free download

This was Jackie Shane's follow-up hit after the success of "Any Other Way."

This single too, was re-released in the late sixties, due to popular demand.

I'm not sure why or how, but somehow Sue Records either lost or damaged their master tape so a new master was made from a 45 RPM that I picked up in Buffalo and gave to our guy in Toronto, so if the fidelity is not totally up to par, you'll understand why.

If only we'd had Adobe Audition back then!

The backing is inane. Shame the producer decided to keep it in.

I heard this song once when I was 15 and didn't hear the artist I looked in specialty record stores in NY but could never find it I only knew the time it came out because Marvin Gaye's "Pride and Joy" was played at the same time I thought I'd never find it but the internet and in particular youtube make anything available Thanks for the posting

I heard this song one time on NY radio I knew the time because I remembered that Marvin Gaye's Pride and Joy was out at the same time some time later a year or two I didn't know the artist and I went to the three stores in NY that had huge stocks of old 45s but nobody could tell me anything I finally found it on the internet and it's obvious that the powers that shut down napster and limewire may have won some battles but the war is lost Thank God!!!!!!!!! Thank you so much for all your efforts

Thank you for salvaging this masterpiece. There were so many androgynous major talents around in the early phase of black pop music. This version is far superior to Dee Clark's harmless ditty. "In this tenement this poor boy is a queen": Cute.

I'm quite the opposite. I think that the background singers are great, making this one super record!

If you think the backround vocals are harmful just have a look at the so called dancers behind him on the WALKING THE DOG video. Funny actually, but in spite, Jackie is still great.
