One of the best tracks recorded for the Adult Child album. I speeded up the track a little.

So . . . What was the point of speeding it up? Some legal technicality that allows you to post copyrighted material?I can dig that.I just hope to God it wasn't an attempt to "improve" upon the work of masters!

@vampyros1 said: "Marilyn can't sing".I couldn't disagree more. I admit she sounds a bit out of place here, but in general, she had a flute-like tone I find very pleasing to the ear. I would recommend the American Spring song "Fallin' in Love". She's great -- understated, but she damn well does know how to sing. She just does what the song calls for . . . or, rather, what the producer calls for, the producer usually being her husband/ex-husband Brian Wilson.

@John Ferry: Which box set would that be?On the Good Vibrations: Thirty Years of the Beach Boys box set, this song is in G-flat. Our friend uploading again has sped it up close to one full semitone, so it's in G (natural). Do you have a properly-tuned instrument you're comparing versions with, or do they just sound the same to you in your mind?

Personally, I like Marilyns vocals alot. On the American Spring album she has really good delivery and hits the notes. Id agree about Carls vocals being intentionally slurred here, i treckon he had one of the best vocals in the purest sense in contemporary music from the early 60s to his death in 98.

On the new box set it's at this tempo. What's the right speed?

Nice song; Marilyn can't sing, but at least hers was only a bit part and didn't detract too much from Carl's vocal and the haunting chords and melody. Thanks for posting.

This is ace. Why they didn't put this on MIU instead of all that other rubbish, I have no idea.

The second voice (on the bridge) is Marilyn Wilson.

you think he sounds drunk, he used his voice in this manner on purpose, its not supposed to be a fun sounding song. Carl Wilson was one of the greatest voice talents that ever lived, he is truly missed in this day and age of overproduced, overfitered garbage that calls itself music.

That might well be, perhaps something in between. That's why I decided to change the title a bit :-)

@itsme111478 For Carl, in 1977, that isn't odd at all.
