I know this is an old comment, but I'll throw my two cents anyway. Music isn't a popularity contest, music these days come and go, hence the "ADD of the general public". He isn't bashing the genres, he's bashing the quality of music. This is why Slipknot and other metal bands take pride in their music, and it shows how fans show loyalty throughout these years.

That`s exactly what he`s saying. Bands are getting millions of views on youtube. People don`t buy records or go to shows anymore, not so much anyway, because we have youtube. But it`s failing, because of the internet. There`s no music industry anymore. There used to be a time when you would hear about a band taking out a new record, you would buy it, listen to it, go see them live, buy t-shirts, buy posters, and all that. Now it`s Youtube. They make money just by having views on the internet.
