Mine as well. Visiting London for a week in feb 1980 and The Clash was out on their 16-tons tour to promote London Calling. First night we failed to get tickets at the Hammersmith Palais, but next night we manage to buy them on the street for 8 pound. We were 16 years and thought it was a bit expensive but worth it. The gig was totally magic, some songs were in double speed, they had a guy from The Blockheads on piano too (forgot his name) and its still my best concert experience ever by far. Nothing else is even close and I have seen Ramones, Iggy Pop, Bob Marley – you name it.

The Clash changed my life!, as an impressionable 17 year old in 1978 I saw them at the Music Machine in Camden Town supported by The Specials & Suicide, fantastic atmosphere, what changed my life? the lyric, "So don't complain about your useless employment, jack it in forever tonite, yeah YEAH!".Joe Strummer never forgotten.

Yeah, i laughed out loud when i saw Green Day, If they stay together for 30 years and write 15 albums, they wont have even a fraction of the relevance The Clash had.

How apposite, Green Day appearing on the same show as two members of The Clash, the band of which they are a pale, shallow, insincere and obvious imitation. Even the clothes that GD are wearing are "frat boy does punk" versions of the gear The Clash wore in the "Clampdown" clip from 30 years before. We all have our heroes but please, a little respect!

Green Day...Well they have managed to keep it together. Perhaps lessons learned and the industry making sure they wouldn't lose a cash cow. That being said, GD a lucky bunch of edging revivalists. Burn a candle for Joe And The Clash you "American Idiots".

Look at Billie Joe Armstrong, his heroes (and mine) right in front of him, I'm surprised he didn't cum!

Don't get me wrong. I like Green Day. But they don't deserve to be in the same room as Mick and Simo.
