Just recently found out about these guys, and I've been listening to the album this song comes from all week. Reminds me of the songwriting and lyrics of La Dispute and the beautiful melody and vocal stylings of mewithoutyou.

Okay, so from those whom do listen to this and really enjoy (for lack of better phrasing, the hardcore fan or fanboys/girls) I might get a lot of hate but I'm just sharing my honest critique and I really don't want this to get blown up into something Its not. That being said, allow me to first state this before anything else: I really like this band and it's style. Nothing is going to change that and this post isn't about determining whether or not this is good stuff. But..well...notice how I said stuff and not music. This is where the hate will probably come in as well as the misunderstanding. You see, my point is, sure, there's instruments playing a concession of rhythmic notes that harmonize and bounce off of each other but as far as the lyrics go? To be honest I thought the first "song" I came across was like an into track or something. If anything, I would honestly be more convinced to see this labeled as slam poetry fashioned over some sweet instrumental tracks before a legitimate band. Now, that's fine because at the end of the day it's my opinion, thus that means it's not true...but that also means it's not false. Now, *PLEASE* do not tell me I just don't get it, or it's too artistic for me because that is the single most douchebaggie-ish thing that just about anybody could ever say regarding a type of artistic output.I mean, like seriously, only stuck up, pompous snobs say that kind of thing. I personally host this kind of "public experiment" on my Twitter called (with no originality points on my part) Song of the Day, where I put up near every week a range of cool, experimental, interesting, or just plain enjoyable music w/ others. I've honestly thought about throwing one of this bands...tracks...up for Song of the Day but I wanted to post my feelings and possibly get a suitable response from the community or artist themselves on their own feelings about the...music.In short, is this really music per say or is this some kind of experimental blend? I mean, I've hosted some pretty cool bands that manage to put out some amazing music, both extremely poetic and all around good listing and I myself write music to perform with my partner. The key difference between those bands (I won't say I compare to them) and this one is that they actually *SING* to the beat of the song, not just recite their poetry over music and to be honest, that's all this band seems to be doing. Before anyone gets to heated up I repeat, this is just my honest critique and in comparison to what most people might say I've been rather respectful. In the end I still like this. It's still going up on my twitter. If I can buy this somewhere I will. I just don't feel like this is necessarily music as follows music's definition:*vocal or instrumental sounds (or both) combined in such a way as to produce beauty of form, harmony, and expression of emotion."couples were dancing to the music"the art or science of composing or performing music.noun: music"he devoted his life to music"a sound perceived as pleasingly harmonious."the background music of softly lapping water"*

the rhythm is off at times and by different people as well. but the song still has potential I think.

This band is spot on. Most bands are just mainly aggressive in the name of hardcore/punk. Hotel books are have aggressive moments, but have quiet moments that can both make a song perfect. One of my favorite bands recently :o

Hi, I've been trying to get into spoken word lately (don't shoot me if it's not really spoken word but some kind of sub-genre or anything please) but find it hard to find bands like this. Could someone point me in the right direction here, pretty please? Really loving this btw c:

This is better than most of the generic hardcore bands who's songs have riffs that are mostly churning, repetitive, machine gun riffs(boring and unoriginal). Seems those bands get more love than this style does, but I don't get it. This IS better, more artistic, more original.

The lyricism in this is fantastic, more poetic then anything I've heard in a long time.
