Han publicado hasta 2008 cinco álbumes, de los cuales el disco debut, *'Cracked Rear View'* (1994), ganador de un Grammy, es con más de 16 millones de copias vendidas, uno de los 15 álbumes más vendidos de EEUU. A partir de 2008 la banda se tomó un descanso y *Rucker* aprovechó para publicar un álbum en solitario con canciones country. Tres de ellas fueron nº1 en las listas del género: *'Don't think I don't think about it', 'It won't be like this for long' y 'Alright'*. Su entrada en el mundo country fué tomada con mucha cautela por los críticos, en gran parte debido a su historia como músico de rock, pero especialmente por ser afroamericano. I remember being a whole lot younger & still looking forward to so much in life. Being older &, ahem, wiser supposedly?, I look back fondly on yesteryear never thinking I'd get here. Suffice to say, this song meant alot in the 90s -- still does -- but the impact of chillin' & partyin', & just expecting so much of the future was the beckoning call of then as opposed to now. Those of you that were college age or older back when this tune came out know exactly what I mean. To the younger sect, this is a foreign ideal & one you'd maybe need to ask of your older siblings or parents to qualify it. But back to the music, I LOVE this tune as it brings back so many youthful & fun feelings, & so much of today's music is mediocre & thus deriding of the true meaning of the ability to derive alot of pure energy & fun. It also brings back maybe, just maybe, a better frame of mind & outlook -- to what yet lies ahead -- despite what this world today looks like & embodies.
