My mother took me to see Canyon Passage. I fell in love with Hoagy as a small child. I have most of his 78s. Thank you for posting this.

Thanks to Google for finding this for me - little niggling snatches of lyrics in my memory.

This was popular when I was a teen ager. When I saw the sky looking like buttermilk a couple of days ago it reminded me of this song, and I'm so delighted to find it where I can hear it! Brings back good memories.

This version is a little faster than the one I really like.

My dad and I love to drive along and listen to my cassettes of Hoagy, Jerome Kern, Artie Shaw, and Glenn Miller! Glad I found them, my generation (70's) has some good music, but nothing quite as good as these songs!

Loved the movie, the song, and Mr. Carmichael's performance. I'm pushing 80 and I still remember it well- actually I remember enjoying it more than the details.

This song was written in 1946 for a motion picture called, "Canyon Passage." Been popular off & on ever since.

Not only that, but his song "Georgia on my mind" was about his sister, Georgia, not my home state, even though it's now the state song.

this is an old standard from the 1970s before stuff like nirvana and ac/dc were invented
