Nowadays, Gibraltar/Kaman manufactures hi-hat towers optimized for double-bass-drum installations, and several drum manufacturers market clamps to attach the Gibraltar legless 'hat to a kick-drum batter hoop.

So, this is where it all started. Drummers like Neil Peart were obviously influenced by Louis Bellson.

MR BELLSON TOOK THE TWO BASS DRUMS TO ANOTHER LEVEL BUT HE WAS NOT THE FIRST TO PLAY THEM FOR YOUR INFORMATION MR. GLASS.

I hate to have to correct you mr. glass, but you are totally totally wrong about who pioneered the two bass drum concept, let's give credit where credit is due, and please do some homework. ray mckinnley, with jimmy Dorsey played with two bass drums in the 40's, years before mr. bellson started playing them, try studying your drumming history a little more closely please.
