Her voice makes me cringe. Is she technical? Yes. Is she an actress? Yes. If it's the first Evita voice you ever heard, you might think it is good. But, as it were, it's not. No timber, no tone, just a cackling, terse, grating - I am trying to put it in a word and it escapes me. To those saying ELENA doesn't have the voice for the role..... have you heard either the 2006 or 2012 soundtracks featuring her? Gorgeous!! she holds her own against the recordings of Lupone and Paige easily. It's really sad she seemed to have lost her voice a bit during the 2012 run.
