There's A Place In The Rockies
A Place That I Know
Where The World Cannot Find Me
And The Time Goes So Slow.
In The Piney Wood Forest
There's A Flower That Grows
Through The Long Months Of Winter
And The High Country Snows.
To A House By A Meadow
'Neath The Towering Peaks
Is A Place Where My Heart Goes
When It's Love That It Seeks.
There A Woman Lies Waiting
Like The Wild Growing Rose
Through The Long Months Of Winter
And The High Country Snows.
In The Space Of A Lifetime
A Man Misses Much
Till He Finds Him A Woman
And Treasures Her Touch.
When The Lakes All Are Frozen
And The Wild Wind Blows
I'll Return To My Darlin'
And The High Country Snows.
I'll Return To My Darlin'
And The High Country Snows.
"High Country Snows" was the title track from Dan Fogelberg's ninth album, which was released in 1985. On this album Dan Fogelberg leaned heavily towards the bluegrass side and the result was outstanding in every way. The musicianship displayed on the album is truly wonderful....such incredible colors and tones on each track thanks to the skillful, stylish and often subdued work of the supporting musicians.
I fell in love with this album in 1985 and listen to it frequently these almost 30 years later. "High Country Snows" is my second video effort for a Dan Fogelberg song, the first being for another track from this album, "Sutter's Mill". I'm hoping to also work up something for "Go Down Easy" but since there is already a nice (and official!) video for this track, it's really not necessary for another...but I'd just like to try something for it later. Until then, hope you enjoy my video effort for the beautiful and moving "High Country Snows"!
Huge thanks to my friend Harley for allowing me to use another clip of his extraordinary time-lapse photography, represented here in the brief clips of the Milky Way. Please visit his channel to see the full video, it's really something....as are all of his efforts!
