I'm crazy about the backup harmony.

Alcohol and other mind-numbing substances are necessary for the creation of this kind of music, because sober musicians would get bored to death and eventually become interested more in the endless quest for proficiency on their instruments, and in increasing complexity of composition, rather than woozy, nostalgic and lachrymose exercises in stylized world-weariness bordering on bathos.

When they filmed this, they used the Guy Clark song as a transition from the scene in Nashvile with Guy to the TVZ scene in Austin.

Townes girlfriend, later to become his second wife, had strawberry blonde hair, wavy hair. Her name was Cindy.

Several folks have asked who the woman at the sink and sitting with Seymour was. Although she looks a little like Susanna Clark, she's not. Susanna and Guy were living in Nashville at this time, and the scenes filmed with TVZ were in the West Austin neighborhood called Clarksville. The girl visiting "Unc" Seymour Washington was Phyllis Ivy.

Not Susanna, but not Townes's wife, either. He introduces his wife in the scene outside the trailer and she has frizzy reddish hair. This is just a friend of Townes's.

It is just a friend of Townes and Seymour. Someone who worked on the film clarified that on another thread.

That's actually Steve Young, who is also featured on the documentary. You can look up his song "Alabama Highway" which is also on YouTube.
