Miles said that you could sum up jazz in four words; Louis Armstrong and Charlie Parker. A bit mean towards Diz and the Duke, if you arx me. The first person who got me interested was Billie; Bird was the second. These days I see Miles as more important than just about anyone in the 20th Century. I can't believe how many wonderful records he made - no one else compares.
