Wow John Faddis is an animal. Really have no idea why some people are complaining about his "squeals". He sound is extraordinary, and when you play that high, Faddis' playing is as clean as it comes. He brings up interesting and melodic ideas, so what if they are from diz. Jazz is all about taking and incorporating.9 years ago

I've listened to him in several contexts now, and it's always the same thing: Faddis has NOTHING to say. He squeals away proving he can hit those high (non) notes, and then he does it some more. He has ruined several albums for me by doing this same shtick no matter the context of the piece or what the other players are doing. 9 years ago
