@bboymango Andsnes is great. First I believe there has never been a better interpreter or performer of Grieg than Grieg himself. Otherwise of the many pianists I've heard over the past nearly-70 years who have extensively recorded Grieg, 4 stand out as the best - with each better than the others in some individual pieces - Walter Gieseking, Mark Farago, Tal-Haim Samnon, and Emil Gilels. Not only great, but able to bring out Grieg's ingenious subtleties most others miss & in the right balance

Wonderful. This is a puzzle to me. No one is better with Grieg than Austbo at his best as he is here. Even at his worst, his technical details and depth of understanding are excellent. When he does fail, the problem is nearly always that he plays so fast that all his elegance and perfect phrasing go for nothing. He may have been misled by Grieg's own acoustic recordings in which Grieg had to rush and abridge to fit the recording-time limits. (Grieg much preferred his piano roll recordings).
