Greg Kihn does his classic "I cant' stop hurting myself" live, early 80's. How self-reflective is this tune?

Dr. One can make the case that Dave Carpender was the "original" guitarist of the Greg Kihn Band. Yes, Robbie Dunbar (Earth Quake) played lead on the first album, but I don't think the actual live/touring band was set at that point. Of few life's regrets is not knowing that Dave was living less than an hour from me in the foothills.... and tearing it up at the local bars..... until I heard news of his passing...

Greg Douglass did play with Greg for a short time, but in this video, that's Dave Carpender, his original (almost) guitarist. Dave was a monster and a totally hilarious stage presence with the heart of an angel, unfortunately that heart finally gave out a few years back....

Greg Douglass totally awesome guitarist. Saw him many times live. Story he tells about writing Jungle Love with Lonnie Turner (the bass player from SMB) is pretty funny if you can find it

Awesome to see part of the classic lineup. I saw them a ton in the Bay Area with Dave on guitar and Gary on keys. Such an awesome show

Saw TGKB at the Trading Post Saloon in Missoula, MT in the 80's. He was cool enough to sit down and talk to us at the bar during the break, very accessible and personable. Still a huge fan, and this is one of his best songs. And I dig the crazy Vox 12 string!
