first time I saw them was '67 when some idiot booked them into a little dance club in Greenwich village. 35 people in the room, all duded up to dance. Pigpen walks in all in leather. they hated the band and the band hated them. we plopped in the middle of the dance floor and smoked a joint. AHHHH the 60's

As an 18 year old who's a fan of the Dead, I'm pissed off that a band this good played that long ago. I would kill to see a Dead show live. But Widespread Panic fills that void partially I must say.
