Rough or not it is at least faithful and I find it quite nice. One of the things I appreciate of the Dead's Dylan covers is their respect of the lyrics. As his Bobness said "I'll know my song well before I start singing". Not all respect that. The Dead do. And to me this is essential, because Bob-texts are to be respected. The frog

respectfully... I actually think this song was exactly what the Dead were about....simply an original and unique effort....every time. I could only wish to do the same...every time. Long live the Dead...and long live All along the Watchtower!!

Yeah! Like, I mean, really, like, awesome comment maaaan?!! Maybe, when you reach puberty and your grasp of the English language is a little more advanced, we can discuss the merits or otherwise of the Dead's take on this great song. Until then, like err!! "Whatever" dude!!

This song is just not what the Dead was all about. Thankfully.

Its a great song, when some people cover songs they do it with they're own style. They dong break the normal flow of the song. Hence similar solo and chorus structure. They just add their touch. We ALL learned by playing someone elses music. And if your a musician you've made your own lines in or out of someone elses tunes.

I sadly agree. Dylan is a great songwriter and musian, but he's a horrible singer...
