Finally getting around to making a video for one of my top 10 artists of all-time.....Graham Parker! "Waiting For The UFO's" was released in 1979 on the Squeezing Out Sparks album. Graham Parker is brilliant and is probably my favorite lyricist of them all.

Squeezing Out Sparks is a 1979 album by Graham Parker and the Rumour. It was voted album of the year in the 1979 Village Voice Jazz & Pop Critics Poll and, in 2003, was ranked number 335 on Rolling Stone magazine's list of the 500 greatest albums of all time.

Although the Rumour were not credited on the cover, their name was included on the album label.

Squeezing Out Sparks was reissued in the UK in 2001 on Vertigo/Mercury, with two bonus tracks. In addition, in 1996, Arista issued Squeezing Out Sparks + Live Sparks with the original ten tracks followed by live versions of the same songs, in the same order, plus "I Want You Back (Alive)" and "Mercury Poisoning" live. "Live Sparks" had originally been released only as a limited edition, promotional picture disc LP. Studio versions of "I Want You Back" (a Jackson 5 cover) and "Mercury Poisoning" were originally issued on a 45 rpm 7" single which was included with early copies of the album.

I hope you enjoy the effort!

[Lyrics]

No-one can hide it anymore we know it's not imagining

Even the skeptics are unsure when they stop to think

People are not worth their life now they are obsolete

We're dying to be invaded and put the blame on something concrete

Waiting for the UFOs Waiting for the UFOs

We are waiting for the UFOs We know that they're there

We're just a joke they sometimes crack, they'll get away with anything

The government is holding back, they won't say a word

Now is that a light in sky or just a spark in my heart?

Can I accept this as evidence or will that tear the whole act apart?

This new obsession is turning us alien too too

Much more resounding my heart just stopped pounding for you

Waiting for the UFOs Waiting for the UFOs

We are waiting for the UFOs Waiting Waiting

What a fine job of matching graphic images to lyrics! I was lucky enough to see Graham Parker perform this song, among many others, in Berkeley in 1979. Rachel Sweet opened for him.

@AstralBlueDream777 Damn, how is that I'm finding all these comments that I could have SWORN I've already replied to? I'm seriously concerned for my mind....it's a terrible thing to waste, don't you know! LOL! Graham Parker is in my top 20 artists of all time (sometime top 10)....I believe him to be an extraordinary songwriter and lyricist.....truly a one of a kind. Never understood why Elvis C broke out and he didn't, and Elvis C has released some records I did not like....Graham never did!

@450hp202turbo Thanks mate! Yeah, I was having frequent crashes during rendering and at other points when putting the videos together on my older machine...now using an I7 920 2.67 GHz with 12GB ram....even now though, I can push those processors to the bending point with some of the more intensive video sequences. PM me if I can help you any. Thanks for watching and commenting!
