Mona Lisa's Sister album none too shabby, either.

Great music from a humble and very nice person, I've met him. He has always been underrated, and I don't know why. Anyway, he's among the best songwriters in rock ever.

perfect rhythm, crafty, intellectual, and easy on the eye...they don't make 'em like this any more.

....I love eighties videos. Magnificent song, it starts off fine with the band miming onstage, and then....he's ON THE ROOF! Just on the roof. With a fake mic. And no band. And wandering around in the rubble. Still with no band. But he has a mic.(I also think this version has been slowed down by uploading? WTF.)

This song is quite the inspiration. What was the spark that ignited this song?

@WyomingTimberWolf I am 99% sure "Get Started, Start A Fire" is from 1987. It's on the Graham Parker album THE MONA LISA'S SISTER, one of his best.

best is almost an understandment, brillant, witty, sharp, cutting, way ahead of the times

Meanwhile down the road a factory's choking, the ones who kill to work there, I'm not joking. Brilliant

Haha, I love the live versions of this track now. It must've been a combination of the video and production. Every one has their "Goodbye Cruel World".

Blame the record company, the manager, or the decade; but never blame GP. He's not just good, to me, he is the BEST.

One of the best unknown songs of the late 80s.

the guitar riff between 'get started' and 'start a fire' is remniscent of Vincent Crane's organ work in The Crazy World Of Arthur Brown's 'Fire' from 20 years earlier.
