In 1973, at the age of 9 I was going though things kids should just not have to ever endure, that pretty much scarred me but this movie “Godspell” lifted me up. It was actually the first musical film I had ever seen in a movie theater and this song “Day by Day" I can remember singing a lot as a kid. Time flies by but the bad memories never go away but thank God there were movies like this to lift a kid up, like me.

Heard this song yesterday on the new oldies station in Chicago "ME TV Radio".Used to sing it all the time in the mid 70s at church on Sundays. So great to hear it again. The song is so short, but so powerful. It contains all you need to know.

I said this on the other Godspell song, but: sadly, 4 of the main cast members died relatively young

I love this song but had never seen any part of Godspell until tonight. Wow. Kind of ruined the song for me. What is with '70's movies? Lip syncing that isn't in sync with the music? No problem in the '70's!

I spent Easter Sunday watching Godspell and Jesus Christ Superstar. This song has so many good memories for me! I learned this song in day camp when I was 8 years old. And then to harmonize singing it when I was 10 years old in Girls chorus. As an adult, I taught it to the before school group at a Christian school so we could sing it at chapel. I guess when I was a kid, I never paid attention that Jesus was played by Victor Garber. He was really cute and played the part so well. The lyrics to this song is how we all should aspire to be in our daily lives and our walk w/ Jesus.

Victor Garber! I had no idea he started out in Godspell. He's so innocent and cute. My high school senior's class looked a lot like these kids.

This was my favorite song to sing in music class in first grade. I think it was the first time I remember the idea that God could be part of my everyday life and cared about me.

Victor Garber is very lovable as Jesus.

groovy

No Offense, but if you look at Victor in his role in this movie he kind of reminds me of Mork from Ork the way he's dressed.

Only good-looking ( read 21 years olds), would be able to get away with making it look cool to go shopping for clothing in garbage cans.I admire their flat abs.
